How Precious are Your Thoughts

On leave today

Took the day off today. Am clearing leave from 2004, so gonna be taking day offs from time to time :) Thank God for the cool and comfy day. Not particularly eventful, just did some grooming regime. Trimmed and coloured my hair. Hopefully its neater and prep for the upcoming festive season.

For some reason, I am looking forward to the Hope Camp in 1+ weeks time. Prob because P and Joe's family are leaving us after that, so am cherishing the moments together as a congregation. No doubt attendance will be small, but I'm sure it'll be a special time together for those gathered. Also praying for a strong sense of God's presence.

Oh, other things happening, not exactly in my life, but nevertheless exciting... bro is finally making prep to marry! And the first step, typical Singaporean, is to secure a flat!! Hmmm, sure things will certainly gain momentum in the next few months although no date has been fixed. Being the helpful aka "kaypoh" sis, I will volunteer to help scout around if need be ;)

Random thoughts

Just came back from the train station. Went there to send my relatives off. So fast, they have come and gone back. Hope that it was a nice trip for them. Thought that it was a good mix of attractions, from traditional HPV to modern Sentosa to decorated Orchard and to neighbourhood Toa Payoh.

I haven't been to the attractions in Sentosa in ages... Haven't even seen the musical fountain since it began! Yes, that long! Really, I ought to go there some day...

Anyway, am supposed to do work today. Brought work home to complete. Next week will be madness week! Meetings back to back almost every day. Am also sitting in the committee planning our annual workout day. Event's next Sat at ECP. Am thinking of staying on after the event to cycle and just hang out at the beach. Looking forward to it and praying for nice, cool weather.

Bro just asked if I am keen to go with him and gf to Macau for a few days. He will be going w his CCA, and thought it'll be nice to have us go together. Not sure about going as its quite sudden, but will prob decide soon. It's in end Nov. One thing for certain, its gonna be a rush, w the hope camp on 1 Dec. Fancy the opportunity to know my future sis-in-law better! The concern is whether I can take leave for the extended period. Theoretically, I do have vacation leave to clear, but timing a bit difficult eh.... hmmmm

Today's Program

Whew! Thank God for a smooth day today! Borrowed T'warrior's car today as my dad and bro got to work, so I am responsible for today's iternary.

Decided to bring my relatives to Haw Par Villa. Initially thought that it has closed down, but websites still list it as an attraction. Anyway, I called up the office this morning to confirm that it's still open. Though the place is rather run down, I guess it was worth the while going since my relatives are Chinese and they are able to identify the statues quite well. The entire place was rather quiet. We saw pockets of visitors here and there. Very different from the days of old, when entrance fees were high and there were boat rides through the "gates of hell" and not forgetting the thrilling boat rides down the slope...

After the brief tour, I drove us back to Toa Payoh for late lunch. And we shopped a little there before heading home. Breathed a sigh of relief when we reached home. Mission accomplished! But wait, just in the midst of typing this entry, my cousin realised that he has dropped his wallet somewhere, possibly at the fitting room of a shop in Toa Payoh. So, we headed out again to trace the missing wallet containing his NRIC. This time, it was raining cats and dogs. (Princess, am reminded of your student's "cats and dogs" description on the uniform.. haha) Anyway, thank God we managed to recover the wallet and the NRIC is intact. Thank God for nice people who do not pocket the lost wallet.

So there you have it, my day =) Going out for dinner together later before joining the worship pract. Oh yes, I topped up the petrol for my first time today... hahaha

Visiting Relatives

Am sitting in front of my PC frantically searching for places of interest in Sgp. 3 of my relatives from KL are visiting over the next 3 days. Realised that I don't have many ideas of where to bring them... shudder... Afraid that this place may be rather boring to them.

Its quite difficult to plan the iternary for 3 persons over 3 generations... My granddad is rather senior, uncle is typical middle aged person, then my cousin is about 12 years old. So how? They are all guys, so shopping seems to be out. Maybe just hop onto the MRT and just make a few stops to see some landscape. I have taken urgent leave to bring them around tmr. Dad will bring them to Sentosa on Fri. They will leave on Sat, so am hoping to pack as much as possible into the iternary. Got to go and work on that now!

Kidz Stuff

Have been spending quite a lot of time preparing the children's program for this Sunday. Was surfing the net on Thu for ideas of craft and story telling, bought the materials last evening and did up a sample of the craft today. Not too original an idea, but certainly hope that it'll be enough to keep Rachel and company interested

It's been a long while since I last did craft, or for that matter, did any colouring. I bought a set of colour pencils for this craft. Being a bit "cheapo", and not wanting to spoil the children with "branded" colour pencils, I decided to go for the budget kind of colour pencils - 18 pencils, each with 2 colours. Anyway, it looks very presentable. Lo and behold, when I got home, I realised that only 1 side is ready for use. The other side of each pencil remains unsharpened. And so, I was busy sharpening the colour pencils just now. Honestly, arms a bit tired after all the turning. A price to pay for the price eh...

It's going to be my first time facilitating children's program, so am praying that everything will turn out well. And that the kids won't be bored stiff. Sigh... again, I feel that this is not my cup of tea, but oh well, am going ahead tmr. Lesson is on the Parable of the Lost Son. All glory to Him!

And just thought of posting a pic of the end product. Not bad eh? Will be nice if the snout is made of some other materials, but no time to buy it lah, so this shall be it...

Just some quick thoughts

Am sitting in front of my office PC, trying to update my blog during the remaining 5 mins of my lunch break. What can I say, have been feeling rather sleepy the whole day. Must have been the busyness of the past week.

Thank God for His coverage and protection during the last few days when I got to drive T'warrior's car. Was quite exhausted mentally and physically after a whole day of driving on Sun. Not that it was very difficult lah, just that I do not drive very often, so this was a first time experience driving the car from place to place. On the whole, it was pleasant, with no incident whatsoever. =)

Signed up for H camp last Sunday as well. Was a little disappointed that so few pp will be going for it. It would be nice to have the younger folks come together during the nights, chit-chat, play some board games and just enjoy the fun and laughter.

Well, just committing the entire camp to God, and pray that He will cause it to be a fruitful time spent together with Him and with one another. No matter how bleak the situation may seem, when we pray, we expect that He will answer in accordance to His plan. And when we are at the end of ourselves, we are forced to trust Him, and that is a good thing, coz we'll be depending solely on Him, yeah? Yup, this is my sentiment toward this camp ;)
